TRANSCRIBED FROM THE MOUNTAIN ECHO OCTOBER 12, 1917 P. 1
We have been working and believe me, we sure have been putting in full time. I am on the go from five thirty in the morning until six at night. We put on a Regimental Parade Thursday afternoon, and we were very highly complimented on the showing that we made. The boys are doing better every day and I think with about two months’ more work, we will be almost perfect. I have seen all the other Lieutenants drill their companies, and there is not a one that can come up with ours. All of the boys are crazy about him.
I want to thank the people of Yellville for the magazines and tobacco they sent us. We sure did appreciate it. I certainly enjoy reading the papers. Give my regards to all the boys and girls.
NOTES: This is a partial letter written by Sgt. G. F. Alexander of the Motor Truck Co., No. 12
