My Dear Cousin:
I will this afternoon answer your kind and appreciated letter that I received yesterday. I am well and hope that you are just as well. It was a surprise to me to hear you being married. Josie was that cousin Will's Josie that died? I sure hated to hear of that. Yes Josie the last time I saw you was when you were at McArthur. I sure was surprised to hear of cousin Clara's death, where is cousin Mollie at now? Be sure when you answer this to tell me where she is, as I often think of you and Josie I am sending you my picture so when you look at this think of me. Josie I sure have been in some_____battles since I came to France. Went over the top twice and the artillery is the wost of all. I was lucky--never even got a scratch. Anyway the war is over now and I am sure glad. I hope it will not be very long until we'll be sailing for America. Will close with love to all. Answer soon in a long letter.
Lovingly, your cousin,
Prvt. John Babb,
215 Co. Military Police, A. E. F., A. P. O. 716, Brest, France.
