I am just back from the front and I tell you we did have a hot time. We boys live a different lif than we did when we were at home.
NOTES: This partial letter was written by Webster Buel Burleson from France to his brother E. P. Burleson of Turkey, Arkansas. Burleson was born in Marion County on October 10, 1895 and died on April 2, 1961. He is buried in the Layton Cemetery in Yellville, Arkansas. His military headstone identifies him as a Pfc. in Co. E, 116 Infantry.
