TRANSCRIBED FROM THE POCAHONTAS STAR HERALD OCTOBER 14, 1918 P. 3
Camp Jackson, S.C.
Sept. 16, 1918
Dear Sir:
Enclosed you will find an order for 50 cents for which send me the “old” Star Herald. I sure enjoy reading your paper, but have been having bad luck in getting it, as I have been transfered so many times.
I am enjoying the army life fine. Am gaining in weight all the time and am feeling better than I ever did in my life. The only thing I hate is, that I am afraid the war will be over before I get to go over. I certainly would like to take a hand in the great drive which is now in progress. The kaiser will have to hand it to Uncle Sammy, eh?
Yours truly,
Sgt. W.B. Campbell
Bat. F. 1st Reg. F.A.R.D.
