I want to hear from my home town once again. Be sure and send me some papers from home. I would give anything for a morning paper.
NOTES: This partial letter was written by Pvt. William E. Cody to Sheriff Hutton in whose office he formerly worked. Cody volunteered for company E. 12th (Railway) Engineers and was writing from France. He sailed with his battalion on July 28, 1917 onboard the R. M. S. Carmania and returned on April 26, 1919 onboard the Cape May.
