TRANSCRIBED FROM THE BRINKLEY ARGUS JANUARY 11, 1918 P. 1
Camp Jackson, S.C., Jan. 1, ‘18
Dear Friend:
I am glad to know that dear old Shiloh, is never short on any good work but always comes to the front on whatever she undertakes. The boys who are in the service from the Shiloh community are glad indeed to know that Bro. Hoy, our former pastor, is going to join them in the great war. Our community has done its part nobly, always with wide open charity. We also think they made a good decision in their votes for the prettiest girl recently told of in your letter in the paper.
Wish we could have been there to congratulate Mr. J. C. Jones on his good luck in winning for his wife such a nice young lass as Miss Nally. Here’s hoping they will live long years together and that there my never be a thorn in their path.
Very cordially,
James Davis
