TRANSCRIBED FROM THE GREEN FOREST TRIBUNE OCTOBER 19, 1917 P. 2
I am fine and hope that this will find you all the same. I received my pillow cases and am well pleased with them. The first chance I get I am going to send my clothes home. I am not allowed to wear them and they are in my way.
I visited Camp Pike Sunday and met lots of my old friends, among whom are Ray Russell, Loyd Bandy, Burr Stroud, McKinley Coleman and Frank Jennings.
I am sure glad I enlisted.
Tell mother I think I will get to come home before we leave here and tell my girl hello for me.
NOTES: This letter was written by Mark Deburger to his sister Kate.
