Dear Mother:
I will answer your kind letter which I have just received. I was very glad to know that all of you are well. This leaves me in good shape.
I am drilling every day now getting ready for a big parade before Presi. Wilson.
I believe we will be home soon. When you read about the big parade over here in France you can say that I was in it. I am proud that my officers picked me as one to engage in the parade. I have been working hard getting ready for the job. I guess it is cold at home. It is warm here and rains nearly all the time. I believe it is healthier over here, for all us Yanks ar fat as hogs and eat like hogs, and grumble because there isn’t more.
From your son,
Noel
