I will now write you a few lines as this is Sunday. I have been on guard all night and am very sleepy today.
i am now in Germany and like this country fine. i haven't been doing any drilling since I’m just been traveling. I have been in part of Belgium and through France and now in Germany. I like France the best of all. I have seen just one real American girl since I have been over here and that was in France, and she gave me a box of cigarettes, and sure was glad to get them. I sure did enjoy some entertaining while in France.
I never was in any battle and I think I was lucky. How is everybody back about home? I have written several letters back there but don’t receive any answers. I think I will get to come back before long, but one cannot tell. So I guess this is all for this time. Hoping to be with you soon.
