TRANSCRIBED FROM THE GREEN FOREST TRIBUNE FEBRUARY 1, 1918 P. 2
Camp Beauregard. Jan. 18, 1918.
Dear Mother:
I will answer your letter with the new pen you and Adrain sent me. It is sure a dandy and I am proud of it and will take the best of care of it.
I am about over my cold and am feeling fine so don’t worry about me.
Have just received a letter from Adrain and I am sure glad to get it. I will answer by return mail.
Herman McGeehe has received his discharge so will be coming home as soon as he can get a pass out of the camp. We are under a strict quarantine and cannot get to any place. Under the new law it is a two years’ imprisonment to break a quarantine.
I received Viola’s letter and was sure glad to get it. I had begun to think they had forgotten I had written.
Norval was sick for a few days of lagrip but is feeling better now. I see Bill Cox every few days and he is well.
I am surprised at the cold weather you all are having up there. From what I hear I judge you have sure had it bad.
Well, I hope this letter will find you well and hope you will take good care of yourself and will write soon and often
Your loving son,
Tim.
NOTES: This letter was written by Tim Firestone.
