TRANSCRIBED FROM THE DE QUEEN BEE DECEMBER 21, 1917 P. 2
Camp Jackson, Dec. 12, 1917.
Dear Old De Queen Bee:
I thought I would write to let the readers hear from the Sevier county boys. We are having some bad weather now. It rained last night. Camp Jackson was quarantined today for spinal meningitis. There have been several died with it, but none in the 316th battalion. We began drilling with the machine gun this week. I like the drill fine.
I wish the Bee and all the readers a Merry Christmas.
Would like to hear from anyone in Sevier county.
Lee Gilbert.
