TRANSCRIBED FROM THE BENTON COURIER NOVEMBER 21, 1918 P. 7
No, he is not by himself, for he has a friend who has a friend, who has the blues. All the old boys at Camp Pike sure want to go home. They don’t seem to care whether they do anything else or not, and I am just like them. I was out to Bland last Saturday and Sunday, ad believe me I sure did enjoy myself.
I am still in the non-com school, but don’t guess I will be much longer, for they are talking of sending us away, but I don’t know where, but hope it will be home. I don’t think we will have to stay in the army much longer. They are sending some of the boys home every day. The Officers’ Training School boys go home this week. All you can hear now is going home.
Well, if this misses the waste basket, will write more the next time.
