Hello, Mother, how are you all by this time? I truly hope you are well.
Well, mother, I have written several letters since I have been over here, but you say that you haven’t received any. I don’t see why, because I have certainly written to you. I will try and write oftener now and maybe you will get them.
Well, I guess you all had a fine Christmas. I hope so any way. I had a real nice time and a fine dinner. Santa Claus came to see all of us. I know that John had an enjoyable Christmas. Well, I would like to have a Christmas present from home but don’t suppose that I will get one. However, I hope to be at home next Christmas. Don’t you hope so to, mother?
Well, I will close for this time hoping that you are well and all had an enjoyable Christmas. Give my love and best wishes to all.
From your son,
Thomas P. Gravette
