TRANSCRIBED FROM THE MELBOURNE TIMES DECEMBER 6, 1918 P. 2
Dear Father and Mother:
Another Sunday has rolled around and finds me writing you again. I am feeling fine: still in school and enjoying the work fine.
How is Zion and where is Clyde? I found his company over here but have been unable to find him, so I suppose he is still over there. Give me the address of the boys from home so I can look them up. Most all the boys from home passed through here this week but I was in school and failed to see them. Claud King, Ace Johns, Lige John, Sidney Wiles, and Jewell Hightower were in the bunch, so I hear, all feeling fine.
How is crops and have you been able to get them gathered?
Where is Artye and what is she doing? I write her often but have not been able to hear from any of you since I landed, and I often wonder if you get my letters and how often.
Write me all the news.
Your loving son,

Date Sunday, Nov. 10.
