TRANSCRIBED FROM THE COURIER INDEX MARCH 15, 1918 P. 1
I am doing fine. If I had known times was this good here I would have been here long ago. I get all I want to eat, plenty of good clothes and a good place to sleep. A fellow ought not to grumble coming to a good place like this.
NOTES: This partial letter was written by African American soldier Rueben Hall who was serving in Second Company, First Training Battalion at Camp Pike. He was writing to his former boss attorney Burk Mann.
