TRANSCRIBED FROM THE DREW COUNTY ADVANCE MARCH 18, 1919 P. 7
Hello Marybell:
Jan. 22, 1919
I am well and feeling fine and hope these few lines will find you all the same way. Sure do wish I could hear from you all. Haven’t had any news any later than about November 15. I have written several letters. I don’t know whether you get the letters that I wrote you or not. If I get what you all write you sure don’t write much. But I try to make myself believe that I haven’t been getting my mail.
Well, I can’t think of much to write about. Wish I could tell you when I was coming home but I can’t do that, but I will sure be glad when I do get back. I am in the first army and fifth army corp that is all I can tell about going home. The first army is supposed to go first but when that will be I don’t know. I am located in a little village called Occey. It is about 25 miles northeast of Digon. You can get a map and find where I am located.
Well, I will close for this time, so good by. Tell everybody hello for me and give them my best regards.
Yours truly,
G. W. Haney,
Co. C. 321 M. G. Ba. A. P. O. 742,
A. F., F., via N. Y.
