TRANSCRIBED FROM THE SCOTT COUNTY ADVANCE REPORTER NOVEMBER 29, 1917 P. 3
Dear Editor:
I will drop you a few lines this afternoon. We are in La., and have been transferred from the infantry into the quartermaster department and most of the boys like this much better. We have been informed that two of the Scott Co. boys have been shipped back a corpse and it grieves us very much to hear of this, especially the Parks boys as I understand they were from there, but guess it was almost impossible for all to have a safe return during war times.
You please send my paper to address given as we are very anxious to hear something from Scott.
Respectfully, Bomar Hansard,
Remount Station 314
Camp Beauregard, Louisiana
NOTES: Bomar K.Hansard was born on September 3, 1893 and died May 30, 1982. He is buried in Hawkins Cemetery at Parks, Arkansas in Scott County.
