TRANSCRIBED FROM THE LITTLE RIVER NEWS MARCH 8, 1919 P. 2
France, February 9.—D. B. Harmon:
Dear Brother:
This leaves me well at present. Hope you and all are well. I did think once that I couldn’t make it. But I’ve overcome it now and am all right. Now if I ever get back home I have a working constitution. Dan I wish that I had the same opportunity that I once had. Say will you please answer this letter, if possible. If I can ever get to the States I will send my money over to you to put in the bank. I don’t know where you is, I haven’e received but one letter from you. I have $5,000 insurance taken out I willed It to you. Just soon as I hear from you I will send my money. While I am over here I am going to do the best I can. It seems to be wearsome to me to consolate my mind. Say Dan, if you can will you send me arithmetic and spelling book. You can send it. I want some kind of American book to read to keep from going crazy. Be show to show this to all.
Your Brother.
