Wish you could see the good roads over in this country. I am sure that road making in America is going to begin in earnest now that so many of us have seen nothing but good roads, so many of them and what they are worth to a country.
NOTES: This partial letter was written by Fred Woodson Hersperger to his parents. He was born on November 2, 1889 in Hardy, Arkansas and died on January 17, 1961. He is buried in the Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas. His military headstone identifies him as Arkansas, RAD SGI 114 Field Sig BN. He was described as being of medium height and build with brown eyes and hair.
