TRANSCRIBED FROM THE LAFAYETTE COUNTY DEMOCRAT AUGUST 16, 1919 P. 1
Dear Berdie:
I do not know much to write only that I am sitting on the world, and doing fine. We have a hard time killing “cooties” and believe me, if I ever get to kill as many “Huns’ as I have these pests it will be “Good bye old Germany” and real soon at that. How I wish to see the good old U. S. A. and all the folks, once again.
We were just having a fight to see who would get to tell you about seeing “Hickey” Williams, so I won. We saw him the other night he is well, and said to give his best regards to all. His address is Hdqrs. Co. 2 Infantry.
If you see mother tell her I am well.
Your friend,
George Hinton
