TRANSCRIBED FROM THE POCAHONTAS STAR HERALD OCTOBER 4, 1918 P. 3
Camp Taylor, Ky
Kind Editor:
As I have changed camps, and have missed getting the Star Herald, which I enjoyed reading very much, I will send you my new address so you can keep it coming. I am located in the center of Camp Taylor, it is a new camp, was only a year old the 28th of this month. It is located about six miles from Louisville.
There is an Officers Training School here, they have a class of 2,500 to get their commissions today (Aug. 30).
This is a field artillery replacement depot. There are about 80,000 men here now.
They have sent 125,000 across the pond in the last few months.
I am still with the Randolph boys. I went to Fayetteville with, but we are expecting to be separated at any time. They have sent 97 of our company to Texas since we have been here.
We are all in the Radio department of the field artillery. I like that work fine.
We are all wanting to go across so we can take part in the big battle that is going on now. Wishing you success.
A Sammie,
Chester A. Holt
