TRANSCRIBED FROM THE BENTON COURIER OCTOBER 10, 1918 P. 2
Hello, how are you all? I am O K. I am in France in a nice place. I am enjoying myself fine.
We sure had a nice time crossing the ocean. Some of the boys got seasick, but I didn’t feel sick but one time, then it was soon over and I felt good again.
There are some pretty girls here, but I can’t talk their language. There is lots of difference in this country and the United States. This soil is fertile and produces well.
We have plenty of wine here.
What are you all doing? I guess you will have a good meeting when it starts.
Say, it’s about mess time and I know they have something good for I smell it. I could write a whole lot, but it is about time for me to eat, and you know I am hungry.
With best wishes to all,
Your son,
Judge
