U. S. Army Recruiting station
Mr. Thomas,
Editor Stamps paper,
Dear Mr. Thomas
As Stamps was my home for some time, I am going to write you a few lines, as I am now located in Texarkana, in charge of the army recruiting station as we opened up a station here March 21, the station here was closed in August 1918.
I would appreciate it very much if you would carry a few lines for me in your next issue as a news item. I will give you an out line of what I would like for you to print, and if you will do so we will appreciate it very much.
The U. S. Army Recruiting Station in Texarkana has reopened for volunteer enlistment in the regular army the term of enlistment is for one or three year terms without any reserve, the one year enlistment is for men who had served in the army who desire to enlist for one year, but only one third of the enlistment will be for one year the remaining two thirds will be for three years.
Men who enlist now for three years can get to go over sea to relieve men who are now in the army of occopation which have dependents at home or that are needed at home, all branches of the army are now open for enlistment, this will give all the men who was in training for some time and did not get go over sea an opportunity to do so, and much more pleasure can be received from a trip over and back, as more privilege will be granted than when the war was on.
Any information desired can be had by writing or calling in person at the U. S. Army Recruiting Station, Texarkana, Ark.
Thomas W. Kennedy
NCO. In charge
