TRANSCRIBED FROM THE SCOTT COUNTY ADVANCE REPORTER NOVEMBER 29, 1917 P. 1
Charleston, S. C.
Nov. 22nd, 1917.
Editor, Advance Reporter,
Waldron, Arkansas,
Dear Editor:
Not having received the Advance Reporter in some time, I thot I would remind you of it. I have not received it but once since I have been back to the ship. I can hardly think it is your fault, but if I really knew it were, what would happen to you I cannot explain. You must bear in mind that if Uncle Sammy or one of his boys wants a “feller,” all that is to do is to get that party’s address, set the sights on one of his big 14-inch guns and throw the joise to her and you have him. Not having anything of interest at the time to write I guess that is about all. Except you had better not let me fail to get that paper or you will be looking for a new town and a better climate like the Czar and like the Kaiser will soon be. I am, Sincerely a friend to you and your paper,
J. E. Mack,
