TRANSCRIBED FROM THE ARKADELPHIA DAILY NEWS FEBRUARY 1, 1919 P. 1

I always send the little dailies down to John Abraham to read when I have finished them. He enjoys them too. Then Marcus Key gets hold of them sometimes. They do good service. Tell the News man that his papers are very much in demand, and are read by all Arkadelphia boys within a radius of ten miles. It’s like a circulating library.
Carried John Abraham a bunch of Daily News, but found that he had been transferred to the First Division, with the Army of Occupation.
NOTES: This partial letter was written by Major Heber Lowery McAllister to his wife, Nora. He was born in Mississippi on September 18, 1882 and died in Conway, Arkansas on December 22, 1956. He is buried int the Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway.
