I am well. This is a beautiful country, and we are well cared for. The regimental band is a grand organization, and I have never before enjoyed such music.
The next time you hear from me probably will be a printed post card and only the phrases used will be left uncancelled.
NOTES: Herbert Egbert McKinney was writing to his parents Mr. and Mrs. N. E. McKinney, of Texarkana, Arkansas. He enlisted in the army in Texarkana. He served as a private in the QM, 116th Tr. He was born on February 6, 1897 in Dekalb, Texas and died on December 31, 1974 in Los Angeles, California. He is buried in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood, California.
