Camp Pike, June 18.
Dear Editor Modern News:
Would you allow a soldier boy space in your dear old paper to write a few words? I am all O.K. at present and like the army fine. Ed Landers and Bill Norman paid us a welcome visit recently. We were all glad to see our old home boys. We have received our guns, uniforms and everything, and are preparing to get the Kaiser. Don’t know how long we will be here. Our officers tell us we will soon leave Camp Pike, but I don’t have any any idea when or where we will go. Mothers do not be uneasy about your sons for they will return to you when the victory is won under the red, white, and blue. I will close with wishes to the Modern News and its many readers.
Yours very Respet,
John L. Osborne
