TRANSCRIBED FROM THE GREEN FOREST TIRBUNE SEPTEMBER 6, 1918 P. 2
Dear Editor:
Please send Tribune to the address below for the next six weeks as I will be here about that length of time from the time you receive this letter.
This school was built and equipped by the state university and the government pays $1000 for every man who completes the special course of this school within eight weeks. It is possible to qualify a man for over sea service in that length of time if he is apt enough in his learning. Otherwise he will have to be sent to another camp.
The system of this training is to specialize in expert automobile work and make a soldier out of you at the same time, so you see we have no time to lose.
There are 3500 in my company and they are all from Arkansas. We sure have a time.
Please send paper here until I notify you of my leaving.
Regards,
G. E. Rhodes.
Co. 17, Camp Mabry, Austin, Tex.
NOTES: This letter was written by Ed Rhodes.
