TRANSCRIBED FROM THE ROGERS DEMOCRAT OCTOBER 10, 1918 P. 1
Dear Cousin:
Will let you know I am here and feeling fine; had a fine time on the ship but I got sick. I am talking French fine now but when I first got here it was just about as clear as mud but now I get along fine with the girls. We are sure having some wet weather over here, but don’t think that we will be here long and when I get back I can tell you more than I can write.
It is time for me to go to work so will close for this time.
Your cousin,
CHARLEY RICE
