TRANSCRIBED FROM THE ARKANSAS DEMOCRAT FEBRUARY 28, 1919 P. 16
I am assistant base personnel adjutant at this port, with “beaucoup” work before me at all times. Here I see all the soldiers and officers returning to the United States, and you can’t imagine what an awful tempting feeling comes over me at times. However, someone has to do this work and by being on duty here, I am one of the many who are helping the other fellow get home, so I guess I am really doing some good, which is some consolation.
NOTES: First Lieut. Henry Roberts of Pine Bluff, Arkansas was writing from Brest, France. He helped organize the Motor Truck Company No. 10 in 1917.
