TRANSCRIBED FROM THE DEQUEEN BEE JANUARY 10, 1919 P. 2

Dear Sister:
I will write you a few lines. This leaves me alright. Hope you all are the same. I haven’t heard from home in a long time, neither have I written to any of you. The war is over and we don’t care if it is.
What was once called No Man’s Land is in a rough looking condition. The people are moving back to their wrecked homes that they were forced to give up. Brother Clarence was in the hospital two weeks ago. He was getting along alright. Well, I will colse for this time.
From your brother,
Pvt. Wm. Burr Simpson
Co. E, 140th Infantry,
Am. E. F.
NOTES: William Burr Simpson was born on October 21, 1871 and died on May 13, 1933. He is buried in the Cossatot Cemetery in Sevier County, Arkansas.
