TRANSCRIBED FROM THE MONTICELLONIAN JULY 5, 1918 P. 5

Dear Father:
This leaves me well, and hope it will find you the same.
Well, papa, we are having a good time over here in Europe.
We see a good many German prisoners here.
This is as beautiful a country as I ever saw; but I like the U.S.A. the best.
Tell all my friends hello.
“Dick,” I bet you had a good time at Mr. Bowden’s at the dance. I sure would like to have been there myself. When I get home you can give one for me.
Papa, be sure and send me some tobacco, for you cannot buy any in Europe.
As I have written all I know I will close, hoping to hear from you soon.
Write to this address,
Your Son,
Street Rash,
Co. B 60th Inf.

Via New York.
NOTES: Street was born on December 18, 1893 in Drew County, Arkansas and died on October 10, 1938 in Leslie, Michigan. He is buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Leslie. His military headstone identifies him as an Arkansas Pvt. In the 60th Infantry, 5th Division. He was writing from France.
