TRANSCRIBED FROM THE VAN BUREN COUNTY DEMOCRAT APRIL 25, 1919 P. 1
Dear Mr. Oldham:
I am sending you herewith a couple of post card views. One from Biarritz, the other from Lourdes. I have just returned from these two cities and I may say here that I wish every school boy and girl of Van Buren county could visit these two cities of France. It would be an education complete within itself for them. I also paid a visit to the Pyrenees Mountains. It was wonderful.
This leaves me very busy, otherwise I would tell you more of my late experience. I am enjoying fine health and doing all o.k., but my! I am getting very very anxious to get back to good old Van Buren county. I hope every body there are well, in good spirits and rejoicing that peace is soon to be signed and that the boys are all soon to be home.
Best regards to all,
SERGT. SHERMAN N. SWAIN
Medical Department A.P.O. 705
