TRANSCRIBED FROM THE DEQUEEN BEE OCTOBER 5, 1917 P. 2
We, the boys of dear old Sevier county, who left De Queen the 19th inst. for Camp Pike Training Camp, desire to express our appreciation of the hospitality shown us by the citizens of De Queen on our departure, especially the ladies for the “sumptuous banquet” given in our behalf, also Mr. A. P. Middleton, the patriotic picture man, for the hospitality shown the boys of the colors.
Old Sevier is coming to the front in the drill work and will no doubt be among the first to be ready to sail for France. We have been assigned to Co. “A” 335th M. G. Bn. and intend to give “Uncle Sam” the best we have. I write this in the name of all the boys.
Wishing the Bee the best of success, I remain,
Yours truly,
Alfred W. Taylor,
Company Clerk
