Dear Father and Mother:
Mailed my last letter Dec. 20th. Have only received one letter from you since arriving here, that of Nov. 8th. My wounds are all healed but I am not able to do much walking yet, although I am gradually gaining my strength.
I don’t believe I have ever told you where I was when I received my souvenir. Was up in the Argonne forest northwest of Verdun. There is nothing to write about in this place. We haven’t had any real cold weather so far, but it rains nearly every day. Do not write any more until you hear from me again for I don’t expect to be here long. This is about all I know at present so I will close, with best wishes to all.
Jack
NOTES: This letter is written by H. W. Tindall to his parents Mr. and Mrs. I. H. Tindall.
