TRANSCRIBED FROM THE BENTON COURIER DECEMBER 12, 1918 P. 7
Dearest sister:
Will try and answer your very dear letter which came to hand some few days ago and of course I am always glad to hear from you.
Well, Sis, this leaves me just fine at the present time. Hope it will find you all the same.
You know I sure was surprised to day. Saw six of the boys from my old company. Gee, I sure was glad to see them too, believe me. It was the first time for me to see any one that I knew since I have been over here.
Well, I must close, as ever,
Your brother,
Sidney.
NOTES: Sidney Townsend was writing from France to his sister Mrs. Bianca Lockert of Salem, Arkansas.
