Dear Sister:
Received five letters from you the other day. I had not had a chance for several days to get any mail. I think I get all of your letters o.k. Do not understand why you do not hear from me more often. I have written you every week until a few weeks ago. Maybe by this time you have received more.
Well, I have already been “over the top”. Nothing happened to me. I did not get shot as luck would have it. I was a little cold and hungry a few times but that does not hurt. I can say I feel good now. Have had a good “clean up” and plenty to eat.
Of course, I would like to see all of you but I do not want to go back now under present conditions. Do not worry for I am all right. I want to stay to the finish of this. It’s my duty.
I will tell you all about my experiences some day but will say goodbye now as I am going to the Y.M.C.A. for some chocolate.
Again, do not worry. We will come out ahead sometime.
With love to all.
Your brother,
NORMAN
