Dear Homefolks:
Don’t forget us in your prayers, day and night. And brothers, those who stay at home, please treat the home folks right. For we are in the war, and going to fight like a man. Be sure and save all you can and don’t waste a single thing. We are going to do all we can to win this war, and God will back the truth.

NOTES: Allison Hartford Vance was born in Batesville, Arkansas on May 8, 1896 and died on June 30, 1962. He is buried in the Richwoods Cemetery at Curtis, Arkansas in Clark County. His military headstone identifies him as a Cpl. serving in 306 Co. MPC in World War I. He enlisted on December 17, 1917 and was discharged on August 9, 1919.
