Dear Mother:
Will write you a few lines today. This leaves me well except a bad cold, hope it will find you all well. Well I can’t hardly tell just when I will get started home but I think I will be home in time to celebrate the forth of July, ha ha. Well as news is scarce I’ll close hoping to hear from you all soon. As ever your loving son.

NOTES: Gee Walker was born on April 20, 1897 in Winfield, Arkansas and died on September 10, 1952 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He is buried in the Fairview Burial Park in Hutchinson, Kansas. His military headstone identifies him as a Kansas Pvt. serving in 4 Prov. Reg., during World War I. He enlisted on September 5, 1918 and was discharged on May 5, 1919.
