Mr. L. E. Furgeson
Dear Dad:
I will now answer your most welcome letter just received and I sure was glad to hear from you again; how are you and all the rest? O K I hope, as for me I am in good health. Oh yes, we can get our tobacco over here now, so you need not worry about that, we can get it cheaper than you besides the postage, a pound is 4 Francs. Prince smoking is 1-2 Francs a day, that is hardly a dime in our money.
I wrote to you for razor blades ___ ___ ___now for I bought me a razor that I can buy blades for over here, it is much better and saves money and time both.
I sure wish I was there to go on the weeks fishing trip with you, but wait till this war is over and I get back home.
Believe me the Yanks are surprising the Huns, they just cant understand Uncle Sams boys at all, We are after old Fritz and are going to get them.
I guess every body is making good money over there now; plenty over time for the Railroad men and plenty of work.
Yes raise plenty of chickens for I sure am chicken hungry, as for two of us, I don’t think.
Tell Mr. Grace hello, I was sorry to hear of his misfortune the death of his wife, give him my regards and tell all the rest hello for me and ask Chas. Williams if he got my letter.
I will have to quit for this time, tell mother, Maud and sister hello for me, write me a long newsy letter soon. Love to you all.
Your step son
Paul Wallace.
NOTES: Paul Wallace is writing to his step father L. E. Furgeson
