The Arkansas Great War Letter Project is a project initiated by the staff of the Museum of American History/Cabot Public Schools. The project is intended to bring to light the numbers of little known letters of Arkansas World War I soldiers published in the state’s local newspapers. Few are aware of this treasure trove of primary documents.
The process is simple. Letters are located in the local newspapers, a copy is made and then the letter is transcribed exactly as it appears in the newspapers. No corrections or additions are made. The letter is then posted on the website for research purposes.
We are eagerly seeking individuals who are interested in assisting with the project. All you need is a computer, a careful eye and a willingness to help preserve history. If you would like to assist us in this important project, just contact us by one of the methods listed below.
